When web design goes bad

Since Eric kicked things off here nearly a year ago by pointing out some creative differences with a web deign firm, I thought it might be time to point out another example of web designer’s web sites gone badly wrong:

I really don’t feel the need to say much. Just watch their space-elevator-world-shattering-apocalypse banner for a while and “Feel the Quality” while enjoying those fantastic rounded corners.

Wow. Web geeks making fun of other web geeks. Not that I exclude myself from geeky things or ridiculing others, but it struck me as humorous.

“Haha! Your sword of giant slaying strength +5 is nullified by my armor of light +7, and I’m partially concealed so that raises your THAC0 by at least 2…”

    Your own critique betrays you.

    None of us are cool.

Ha. I love the analogy - though I don’t think anyone was making fun of anyone for their geekyness, so I’m not sure anything is really nullified here. The critique was of their design, and I do hope that ours is better than that despite our obvious geektitudeness.

And in our geek defense, no one here has ever said TEH PWNXORED that I know of. Until now. Damn.

Jonny, THAC0 is sooooo 2nd Edition, dude. You’re, like, totally stuck in the 90’s.
